Baking Soda for a Cleaner Face

We all know that baking soda is known as a great cleaning agent for kitchen utensils, as an ingredient for making pastries and also as a great air sanitizer, but we should not limit the use of baking soda to those because there are countless ways of using baking soda, and one of them is using it on your face.
I'm not really fond of using facial wash (but I do use facial scrub twice a week), I remember the last time I use one was last year and my only two facial cleansers were Cetaphil and Ponds: when I was out of the budget I use Ponds but when I have me some greens I buy Cetaphil. However, being a curious girl I always tend to research on things that are less commercialize, homemade and exceptionally cheap. Then I end up reading reviews about baking soda being used on the face and since we have an abundant amount of baking soda in the house I decided to give it a try.

Since the start of this summer vacation I have been using baking soda on my face and here's how I do it:

  • First: Pour the right amount of facial scrub on your palm and add a pinch of baking soda: a half teaspoon will do.
  • Second: Wet your face with warm water and apply the mixture on your face. Gently spread it by massaging it on your face in a circular motion. Be careful, avoid eye contact.
*excuse me for my face, I just admire my face in here.... I look so funny. xD
  • Third: After massaging your face, rinse it thoroughly with cold water. Then, add some facial moisturizer (This is a MUST).

Note: I only do this once to twice a week because doing it on a daily basis may cause dryness of skin.
