Quick Review: Silka Whitening Herbal Soap

Hello Lovelies!!
Just a quick review :)
Being used by my friend and at the same time having good reviews online, I decided to see for myself if this will become my long term soap.

The 65g Budget Pack of Silka Whitening Herbal Soap

What? Silka Whitening Herbal Soap
How Much? 16 Php / 0.31 $
Where? Leading supermarkets & drugstores

Rear Portion: Ingredients & Description
Ingredients:
  • Sodium Palmitate/ Sodium Palm Kernelate - based on what I gather, these two are both cleansing agent--being sodium but, in high amount can be a skin irritant because they strip off oil from the skin. :(
  • Salicylic Acid - known to fight pimple & great for exfoliating skin.
  • Mineral Oil - hhhmmmmmm
  • Carica Papaya Enzyme - exfoliating dead skin cells.
  • Alpha Tocopheryl Acetate - Vitamin E!! Finally! A moisturizer!

The Verdict...

Pros:
  • Affordable. 16 pesos guys!! 16!!
  • Smells goooooood.
Cons:
  • Breakouts (not only on my face but on my body also!! T.T)
  • It reddened my skin
  • Triggered my allergy on the neck, my neck feels itchy and hot.
And I've only used it for like only 3 days!!! :(

Day 2 & Day 3 "Please excuse my face guys xD"
As you can see, I covered my face immediately with my favorite pimple fighting cream "Katialis" *ta-da!* (I'll make a separate post about that ;D) as soon as I saw the breakouts after taking a shower. My guess is that the soap is toooooo strong and drying for my skin. Too many oil stripping & exfoliating agents. :(

Articles I read:

  • Sodium Palmitate/ Sodium Palm Kernelate  - http://www.etherealauraspa.com/blog/stop-using-soap
  • Salicylic Acid - http://www.webmd.com/drugs/2/drug-18-866/salicylic-acid-topical/salicylic-acid-keratolytic-topical/details  |  https://www.allure.com/story/what-does-salicylic-acid-do\
  • Carica Papaya Enzyme - http://www.seacretspa.com/Papaya-Extract

So my journey to find the most affordable and effective long term soap will move forward again. *deep sigh* -.-" (^ o ^)/ <{to more reviews!}

Disclaimer: If it didn't work for me, doesn't necessarily mean that it will not work for you. My skin is different from yours and so is my diet and health condition. Effects may vary. :)

Would I buy it again? No. T.T

My Cheap but EFFECTIVE Pimple Drying Cream: Katialis Review

Hello Lovelies!! This review is like an updated review version of my previous post on my  IG account .  Being thrifty, I tend to search for DIY's when it comes to that time of the month wherein my "visitor" a.k.a menstruation visits me with a friend named pimple or sometimes zit. My research lead me to knowing this product: Katialis. :) What:   Katialis Price:   small-25Php large-40 Php Where did I bought it?  Local Drugstore & Mercury Drugs Ingredients : Precipitated Sulfur - a form of sulfur used in treating skin diseases, has a keratolytic effect that promotes peeling of the skin. Zinc Oxid e - a mineral used to threat skin rashes, itching, minor burn & other skin irritation. Not anti-bacteria. Resorcinol - used to treat acne. Salicylic Acid - known to fight pimple & great for exfoliating skin. It has a yellow-greenish-grey color (that color though!) with a cream-powdery consistency and smells like F...

When I Let Belo Touched my Armpit: The Belo Beauty Deo Review

Hello Lovelies! Being born a sweaty-pig, I struggled during my puberty days, it is either I end up stinky and soaking wet or having a overwhelming smell of deo and yellow stains on my uniforms--because I just don't know where or who to ask or open up for it is a pretty personal and embarrassing stuff. So moving forward, I end up ruining my armpit, it has chicken skin and uneven skin tone. For years I've been using all-natural alum deo, be it powdered or the solid one, just to save my shirts & blouses from stains but the downside is that it doesn't have any antiperspirant property--which is kinda embarrassing, not just for girls but for everyone! Dyahe bes! Hindi nakakaganda. Then one time, my Mom made me use her Avon's Quelch Deo--and it quite good. I didn't sweat and there's no stain--but then again it just my first time of using it--so I wasn't convince yet, I told myself that I need to try it for a longer period. However, the thing is I don...
