How Nails.Glow cure my fear of Hot Wax

Hello Lovelies!

Last December 2016 I won a 1000 Php GC (gift certificate) from Nails.Glow at our Christmas Party and last December 2017 (yeah, a year after--see how busy I am balancing my life? Nah, just kidding. xD It's just me being a couch potato. *bow*) when I finally made up my mind to go the distance and embark a journey to the North, SM North EDSA that is (I'm residing at Pasig and it's a struggle you know).

Disclaimer: I only took a picture of my GC's Customer's Copy, because the place was packed that time and I want to respect the privacy of my co-customers. So forgive me.

Where? SM North The Block

The services I availed were:

  • Foot Spa (Aromatherapy) 240 Php
  • Half Leg Wax 560
  • Underarm Wax 350 Php
Which all-in-all amounted to 1150 Php. Price may vary from time to time, the pricelist stated where as of December 2017. Check the updated pricelist on their branch first before proceeding with the service. Thank you! :)

The Foot Spa Experience:
Hmmm...what can I say, it's very relaxing and quite a funny experience because Ms. Joy, my attendant, was so friendly and chatty--she told me "Ma'am, wala naman kayong kalyo oh, libag ata to eh. Wag kayong magpa-footspa ng madalas baka numipis yung balat nyo" --- I really find her honesty and way of speaking entertaining--she reminds me of my mom and of my lola when they're scolding me, HAHA. Actually, the reason why I chose their foot spa service is because I want to be pampered and feel relaxed. I'm really a sucker for a good foot spa.

The Hot Wax Experience:
Here's where the magic happened. Just a back story, I once had my armpit hot waxed in a salon at Timog (can't remember the salon name though) and it was my WORST WAXING EXPERIENCE EVER! My pit got burned and darker. So I never settled for hot wax ever again. Then, Nails.Glow Hot Wax Experience happened--and I've never regretted it. The hot wax session was so relaxing it felt like I'm not undergoing a hot wax session at all, it was way better than my cold wax experience. Ms. Joy (same attendant) was so meticulous in her work: FIRST about the temperature of the wax--she often asked me if the wax is too hot for me to bear so that she can adjust the wax heater . SECOND in removing every bit of my hair on my pits and legs, she makes sure that no hair strands were left behind and the way she stripped the wax was not that hurtful. Moreover, she used threading strings instead of tweezers as a post wax hair removing tool which I find hygienic because the strings used where tossed into the trashcan after use. As for the hot wax? It was just RIGHT: the temperature, the stickiness and the scent. The thing that I like about hot wax is that left over wax residue is so minimal compared to cold wax and also add the fact that the hair sticks more on hot wax than the cold one.

So the verdict?

Will I try again? Oh yes! However, it such an irony that it's a nail salon and I didn't try any nail service. Maybe I'll try one next time in a nearer branch. Thanks Nails.Glow, I'm a fan now. :)
Recommend? Yes, my dear.
Love Rating:

That's all for now! Thanks for dropping by! God bless!
